This is an exciting early opportunity to join a new UK based Peer-to-Peer (P2P) FinTech start-up moving up the value chain from Diaspora* Remittances (money transfers) to Diaspora Impact Investments including a strong emphasis on local community development through philanthropic partnerships.

The FinTech aims to provide cheaper financing options to export-focused SMEs in Emerging Market Diaspora home countries through various asset financing options – invoice finance, supply chain finance, and export finance. Longer term it will also offer other Diaspora Finance products through mobile money wallets.

The company is at a pre-seed stage of funding and is now establishing its management team. This provides a unique opportunity to come on board and help shape the vision and product pipeline delivery as part of the company’s success story.

Roles and Responsibilities
Accountable for the technology vision and delivery roadmap to:

• Establish Technology Architecture
• Establish Technology Delivery Strategy
• Rapidly build a small remote technology team to deliver the first Minimum Viable Product (MVP) prototype in weeks.
• Scale team as part of Seed Round and continue scaling Post Seed to meet expected rapid 10x future growth of the business.
• Establish Future Trends element of the team (Smart Contracts, Decentralised Finance, Embedded Finance).

Accountable for technology strategy, operations, and company technology representation around:

• Accelerator programmes
• Pre-Seed Grants
• Seed
• Series A, B and C Funding Rounds
• Internal Management Reporting and KPIs
• Audits (Data Protection, Cyber, other Tech operational risks)
• Regulatory, Investor Community

Essential Skills

• Experience in delivering performant and scalable mobile-first platforms across iOS & Android with excellent UX features.
• Experience in delivering performant and scalable mobile-first platforms across iOS & Android with excellent UX features.
• Engineering experience in REACT or Angular JS including .NET, and Javascript on Cloud-based platforms (Azure, AWS, Google).
• Experience in integrating data analytics (Python, R, SQL).
• Engineering in Agile and Dev Ops environment (Kubernetes, Docker, Looker, Jenkins, Ansible).
• Full end-to-end understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Trouble-shooter with hands-on technical experience who enjoys getting their hands dirty and helping team members unblock issues ensuring continued momentum towards agreed milestones.
• Visionary who thrives on challenges with experience in shaping products from scratch.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrable experience in building platforms from the ground up at a rapid pace.
• Scale experience of building high-performing remotely located teams from zero to hero.
• Punchy and precise verbal and written presentation skills to pull together and deliver pitch decks, press releases, and updates on tech stack and evolution.
• Able to articulate technical roadmap to a non-technical audience including investor community and other stakeholders.
• Passion for working in an environment motivated not just by profit but also impact.

Desirable Skills

• Previous FinTech Start-Up experience.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or STEM-related subject.
